The White House officially inaugurated the holiday season with a presentation that captures the elegant and theatrical style that characterized Melania Trump during her initial tenure as First Lady.

The decorations were revealed on Monday, December 1, and, as confirmed by EWTN News Nightly, each element was personally selected by Melania under the motto "Home is where the heart is."

The First Lady of the United States shared a video on her Instagram account, where she stated: "Home is where the heart is. America's Christmas."

"This Christmas, let us celebrate the love we have within ourselves and share it with the world around us. After all, wherever we are, we can create a home full of infinite possibilities," she added.

An artistic and classic display to welcome visitors

Following her tradition of meticulous control over design, Melania Trump oversaw the entire composition of the 2025 decor.

This year, as noted by Fox News, the holiday spirit is manifested in shiny garlands, exclusive Christmas cards, and a striking LEGO portrait of President Donald Trump, an unexpected piece that has become one of the main points of curiosity among visitors.

For his part, President Donald Trump celebrated the inauguration with a message on the White House account on X that reflects the festive tone of this season.

"Once again we say MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Trump expressed, alongside a photo showing him happily next to a tree decorated with red and gold ornaments.

One of the most notable changes is the absence of the traditional nativity scene in its usual location within the East Hall.

The Office of the First Lady explained that the set is being renovated by the White House Curator's Office, which is why this year a smaller nativity scene is being displayed in the Grand Hall, the entry point for guided tours.

The continuity of a personal mark: the Melania style

This decorative reappearance revives the memory of past Christmases when Melania Trump set the festive aesthetic of the residence.

Her last Christmas as First Lady in 2020 was titled "America the Beautiful", a traditional theme characterized by predominant red, white, and gold tones.

That year, dozens of decorated fir trees and hundreds of lights were installed with the help of volunteers from across the country, who worked under their direction during an intense weekend.

Melania shared both the result and the process on social media, explaining that she aimed to pay tribute to the majesty of the nation and to celebrate a land "that we proudly call home."

In addition to photographs posing among the decorated rooms, she publicly thanked the work of the volunteers who, she stated, filled the historic rooms with "peace and joy."

A year earlier, in 2019, the First Lady also unveiled the holiday decorations, this time under the theme "The Spirit of America". This design stood out for its patriotic symbols: flag ornaments, national colors, and a tree decorated with the names of the states.

The White House then released a video showing Melania walking through the hallways filled with white flowers, stars, and sparkling trees, starting with a striking advent calendar shaped like a model of the Presidential House.

That year, her all-white styling—coat, dress, and matching heels—visually blended with a decor where white was the absolute star.

A Christmas that aims to revive tradition and theatricality

With her new appearance at the White House, Melania Trump reaffirms her status as one of the most influential First Ladies in presidential Christmas aesthetics.

The 2025 design combines personal elements, light patriotism, and an approach that leans towards classic elegance.

The presence of artisanal pieces, warm lighting, and attention to visual storytelling aim to recreate a homely atmosphere, which is precisely the central concept of the theme chosen for this year.

As the presidential residence reopens to the public for the festive visits, Melania's image once again takes center stage in a tradition that she, more than any other recent first lady, transformed into an annual statement of style.
