“Mom, I did it.” With that phrase marking the beginning of his new life, the young Cuban David Amaro named the podcast that today gives voice to the stories of entrepreneurship and overcoming challenges faced by Cubans and Latin Americans in Miami.

The project was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to tell the stories of those who left everything behind to start from scratch and achieve success in the United States.

Inspired by the entrepreneurship podcasts he watched from Spain, Amaro wondered, "Why not me? There are so many stories to tell here in Miami about young people who have achieved incredible things."

This is how "Mamá lo logré" came to be, a space where the host talks with entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals who have carved their path in the so-called City of the Sun, building their businesses from scratch to achieve success.

Stories that inspire, wherever you are

The program has become a platform to celebrate effort, talent, and resilience.

“Cuando crucé la frontera, la primera persona a la que llamé fue a mi mamá”, recuerda Amaro. “I said: ‘Hello, Mom, I did it, now I'm over here’. That was the moment that inspired me to name the project, because deep down, we all want to make our parents proud.”

In each episode, David Amaro demonstrates that success is not measured solely in money, but in courage and perseverance. His guests—entrepreneurs, musicians, designers, influencers, or workers who have risen from nothing—reflect the spirit of a community that refuses to give up.

The format combines deep conversations with a close and natural tone, which has allowed the podcast to gain followers both inside and outside of Miami. Many of the interviewees are Cubans who, after emigrating, managed to build a business, launch a personal brand, or fulfill a dream that seemed impossible on the island.

“Each story has something to teach,” Amaro comments. “Some succeed in music, others in business, or simply in rebuilding their lives. What matters is that everyone achieves it in their own way.”

The podcast has already accumulated over twenty episodes and thousands of views on YouTube. With a blend of love for what they do, excitement, and authenticity, “Mamá lo logré” establishes itself as a window to the fulfilled dreams of the Cuban and Latino community in Miami, a reminder that big goals begin with a courageous step… and a call to mom.
