Exchange rate: How much are dollars, euros, and MLC selling for in Cuba today?



How has the informal currency market been behaving in recent hours?

For the first time in many days, the informal Cuban currency market wakes up calm in Cuba.

At dawn this Tuesday, the dollar is being sold at an average of 445 CUP, a price it reached in the previous trading session.

Also unchanged are the euro and the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC).

The European currency is being sold at 490 CUP and the MLC at 290 CUP, according to the daily report from the independent outlet elTOQUE, which documents the fluctuations of currencies on the island based on classified ads for buying and selling on social media.

In recent weeks, the Cuban government has intensified its campaign against the informal currency market and against the reference rate published by the independent media elTOQUE.

This offensive includes criminal investigations, threats against currency operators, and a communication strategy aimed at discrediting alternative sources of exchange rates for the dollar, euro, and other currencies.
