After the severe impact of a articulated public transport bus against a two-story house in Havana, which took place early Monday morning on Avenida Santa Amalia, videos began circulating on social media showing the complex and delicate process of removing the vehicle from the accident site.
The images were posted in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES for more experience and fewer victims!” by the user Yohandy Aquilera Castillo, and they illustrate the extent of the material damages and the challenges faced in removing the bus, which was trapped underneath part of the affected house's structure.
The videos show how it was necessary to partially demolish the roof of the house's porch, which had been left resting on the bus after the impact. As explained in the recording, it was impossible to move the vehicle without causing a greater collapse until all the rubble was cleared and the damaged structure was secured.
With the help of a crane, the teams began to carefully dismantle the remains of the house that rested on top of the bus. In a particularly tense moment, one can see how a column hangs suspended in the air while the bus is finally removed from the site, covered in debris but no longer in immediate danger.
The author of the video regrets that, according to unofficial reports, the alleged intoxication of an irresponsible driver may have caused an accident whose consequences are now impacting a family that saw their home severely damaged, in a context marked by resource scarcity and housing precariousness on the Island.
The images also respond to users who questioned the authenticity or timeliness of the event. “This is happening right now,” insists the voice accompanying the video, as the crane is seen maneuvering and the bus is finally being extracted from the site.
Although no human casualties were reported, the accident and the subsequent scenes have triggered a strong reaction on social media, where many Cubans express outrage, sadness, and concern about the frequency of such events, the state of public transportation, and the impact that recklessness can have on families already affected by the crisis.

Authorities continue to investigate the causes of the accident, while public debate increases regarding road safety, driver responsibility, and the deterioration of the transportation system in Cuba.
