The popular Cuban comedian Mario Sardiñas, known for his unforgettable character Chequera on the show Vivir del Cuento, has reemerged on social media from Dallas, Texas, in the United States, surprising his fans with new promotions and collaborations with local businesses.
Although the actor had not officially confirmed his arrival in the United States, he has already received many welcoming messages on his posts, where he is seen very active participating in advertising campaigns for small businesses.
“Good morning, farándula. There’s no need to explain why I said Good morning,” he says with laughter in one of his videos, where he expresses surprise at how people in the United States leave nearly new sofas on the street.
True to his style, Chequera maintains his Creole humor and the typical quips of an everyday Cuban, jokingly recalling his concerns in Havana: the endless lines at any store, the blackouts that prevented him from making his purchases on time, and the scarcity of products.
But it is even more amusing to see him so surprised while recycling the trash, as memories of the dump sites in the Cuban capital come to his mind.
The arrival of Mario Sardiñas in the United States has stirred nostalgia among followers of Vivir del Cuento, many of whom are hoping for a reunion with other cast members who also reside in Miami, such as Luis Silva (Pánfilo), Andy Vázquez (Facundo), Omar Franco (Ruperto), Irela Bravo (Cachita), and other Cuban artists who were part of the beloved comedy show.
For now, Chequera seems to be enjoying his new phase in the "yuma," adapting to the rhythm of American life while maintaining his Cuban flavor and unique sense of humor.
