Cuban in Spain celebrates returning to practice medicine after four years: "Everything in life comes"

"Fight for your dreams, never give up on them, don’t listen to anyone, don’t believe what people tell you, don’t pay attention to others, just fight for what you want, because nothing in this life is impossible."

A Cuban doctor celebrated on social media that she has been able to practice her profession again in Spain, after four years of waiting.

In a video shared on TikTok, the user Miss Yarle expressed her excitement about achieving what she considered an almost impossible dream: wearing the medical gown again in another country. “When you think dreams don’t come true, just remember me. It took four years for me to be able to practice as a doctor again, but here we are, in another country, in another city, in a place very different from where I grew up, but returning to do what once became my greatest passion and my biggest goal in life,” she stated.

In her testimony, the Cuban doctor encouraged those going through similar experiences not to give up: “Fight for your dreams, never let them go, don’t listen to anyone, don’t believe what people tell you, don’t pay attention to others. You simply fight for what you want, because nothing in this life is impossible.”

The video, posted on December 16, shows the professional wearing a white coat and a stethoscope while recounting the challenges and the wait involved in being able to practice again. "It has been a long wait; it has been four years of waiting, but you always think that in the end, it will be worth it. Everything will pay off, and when you succeed, you will say: thank goodness I didn't give up," she added.

The message received numerous expressions of support and congratulations from other users, who highlighted the effort and perseverance of the young doctor. Among the comments, phrases such as "Many congratulations and many blessings," "Well done," "Blessings from Cuba," and "Wow, how wonderful, my friend, congratulations" can be read.

Some users also shared personal experiences, noting that Cuban doctors stand out for their dedication and training. One of the most notable comments stated: "I have been living in Spain for 21 years, and no doctor has ever examined me as thoroughly as a Cuban female doctor. You can really see the difference."

A path shared by many Cuban doctors

The testimony of Miss Yarle adds to that of other Cuban healthcare professionals who have shared on social media their efforts to validate their degrees and practice in Spain. Among them, a couple of doctors celebrated obtaining their degree validation a year after emigrating with their young daughter, highlighting that “every sacrifice is worth it when you achieve practicing your profession in another country.”

Also, the Cuban doctor Sam Sabater moved thousands of people as he shared, with tears in his eyes, the moment he received his accreditation after three years of waiting. “You realize that all the sacrifice and effort were worth it,” he said at the time.

On her part, doctor @wlenda.5, who currently works as a family physician in the Spanish public system, described the differences between practicing in Cuba and in Spain: “Here everything is digital, you have 10 minutes per patient and every decision is recorded under your name.”

Stories like these reflect the determination of many Cuban professionals who, despite bureaucratic obstacles and the distance from their homeland, manage to reintegrate into their careers and continue serving medicine from other locations.
