The president of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenski, denied that his country's forces attacked an alleged residence of Vladímir Putin, and accused Russia of fabricating the narrative with the aim of justifying new bombings against Ukrainian territory and sabotaging diplomatic efforts to end the war.

In a message shared on social media, Zelensky described the Russian claim of an alleged “attack on the residence” as a “complete fabrication,” designed to legitimize new aggressions, including attacks on Kyiv, as well as to cover up the Kremlin's refusal to move towards a negotiated solution to the conflict.

“Russia is doing it again, using dangerous statements to undermine all the achievements of our shared diplomatic efforts with President Trump's team,” said the Ukrainian leader, emphasizing that his government continues to work with international partners to bring about peace.

Zelensky stated that Ukraine does not take actions that could harm diplomacy, unlike —he said— Moscow. "This is one of the many differences between us," he emphasized.

The Ukrainian president also recalled that Russia has previously attacked Kyiv, including government buildings such as the Cabinet of Ministers, which he believes reinforces the pattern of aggression from the Kremlin and the manipulation of the narrative to justify the violence.

"The world cannot remain silent now," Zelenski warned. "We cannot allow Russia to undermine the work needed to achieve lasting peace."

The statements come amid a backdrop of ongoing military and diplomatic tensions, as Ukraine insists that Moscow uses disinformation and provocations as tools to prolong the war and evade real commitments to cease the conflict.
