More than 250 vulnerable Cubans were able to enjoy a New Year's meal on December 31, 2025, in Havana, thanks to a solidarity initiative led by the private business 5K Bar and the humanitarian aid group "Con Amor Todos Juntos."
According to the post in the Facebook group "House Sale in CIENFUEGOS CUBA AND MORE," the event was organized by Hugo Puig González, the owner of the establishment, along with Yenier Toledano Torres, the creator of the solidarity project, wWho successfully provided a free dinner in an atmosphere of respect, joy, and dignity for low-income individuals.
"More than 250 people enjoyed an evening filled with joy and love. There was roasted pork, arroz moro, side dishes, mixed salad, fine sweets, and non-alcoholic beverages. Additionally, five suitcases filled with clothing, blankets, and shoes were distributed. Everyone received five-star service," stated Toledano.
The initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration of dozens of people who made donations, raising 42,200 Cuban pesos and 5 MLC, resources that ensured food and the donations delivered during the event.
"Thank God and thanks to our brother Hugo Puig González for allowing us to be part of this beautiful gesture of love. Thank you to all the wonderful people who made it possible to give a little bit of happiness to those in need," Toledano added in a message of gratitude.
In a country marked by food shortages, power outages, and a loss of purchasing power, gestures like this reveal how private initiative and citizen solidarity are often compensating for deficiencies that directly impact the most vulnerable families.
