An unexpected hug can say more than a thousand words. This is how the Cuban Susan (@glowbysusan_) experienced it, as she decided to travel to Cuba as a surprise to reunite with her mother. Her video, shared on TikTok, has touched thousands of people due to the naturalness and emotion of the moment.

In the images, Susan's mother is managing a small business when she looks up and is completely stunned to see her daughter. At first, she covers her face with her hands, unable to believe what she's seeing, and moments later she runs to embrace her, laughing and crying. In the background, a little girl watches the scene with a smile, while the two of them share a heartfelt hug.

"The reaction of my mom when I surprised her," the young woman wrote in the video description, which has already amassed thousands of views and comments. Within hours, the post was filled with messages full of emotion and nostalgia.

“How I wish for that hug from my mother; it’s been nine years since we were together at Christmas,” wrote a user. Another commented, “One’s soul is reset in those hugs.” There were also those who identified with the story: “How lovely, I have known your family my whole life; I studied with your aunt Saydeli. Congratulations on such a beautiful reunion.”

Among the many reactions, many agreed that the mother’s emotion was the most genuine part of the video. “So happy for someone I don't even know, I loved your mom's reaction, it came from the heart”, wrote one follower. Susan herself responded to several messages, expressing gratitude and being moved, making it clear that her story represents many Cubans living abroad: those who dream of the moment they can return and hug their loved ones.
