The President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned this Saturday that his government is ready to if necessary, following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro in a "successful and precise" military operation.

We are prepared to launch a second attack if we need to, a second wave. We assume it would be necessary, but the first attack was so successful, so precise, that it is likely we won’t have to do it,” stated Trump during a press conference at the White House.

The president celebrated the effectiveness of the operation and stated that the United States will work alongside Venezuela "to rebuild a rich and secure country."

Many Venezuelans in the United States will be happy; they will no longer suffer, he added.

Trump also confirmed that Maduro will be prosecuted for drug trafficking in the United States.

You will have to face justice, in New York or in Miami. The evidence will be presented in court, he emphasized.
