The Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this Saturday that “the guards protecting Maduro were Cubans.”

At the press conference this Saturday from Mar-A-Lago, Rubio stated that "Venezuela has become a Cuban colony."

"Cuba is led by senile old men who have ruined it; if I were them, I would be worried. Cuba is a disaster, it is governed by incompetent men, and its economy has completely collapsed... What can I say to the Cuban regime? They should get their beards wet. If I lived in Cuba, I would be worried," said the Cuban-American.

For his part, Trump stated that Cuba will be a topic he will "talk about later" and described the island as a "failed state."

Following Maduro's extraction early Saturday morning from Caracas, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened the leadership of Chavism with facing the same fate as Nicolás Maduro.

Trump addressed the political authorities of Venezuela: "All political and military figures in Venezuela must understand that what happened to Maduro can happen to them, and it will happen if they are not fair, even to their own people."

Trump said that the ousting of Maduro marks a new era for the country.

"The dictator and terrorist, Maduro, has finally left Venezuela. The people are free. They are free once again. It has been a long time for them, but now they are free," he stated.

He also stated that they are prepared to launch another attack if they encounter resistance.

"We are ready to organize a second, much larger attack if necessary."

"So we were prepared for a second wave if necessary. In fact, we assumed that a second wave would be needed, but now it probably won't be the first, if you want to call it that, since the first attack was so successful that we may not need to carry out a second, but we are ready to do so," he added.
