American analyst Marc Thiessen predicted this weekend that U.S. President Donald Trump will visit "a free Iran, a free Havana, and a free Caracas" before leaving the White House.
During an interview on the program Life, Liberty & Levin, from Fox News, Thiessen first addressed Washington's role regarding the Iranian regime and emphasized Trump's leadership in international security and how it relates to the situation in the Caribbean.
"Iran would cease to be a threat. It is a death cult of radical Shiites who want to obtain a nuclear weapon," he stated, recalling that all U.S. presidents since the Iranian revolution have promised to prevent Tehran from acquiring an atomic bomb, but in his opinion, "only Donald Trump took real steps to dismantle that nuclear program."
Thiessen emphasized that the best way to end the threat posed by the Iranian government is to “help the people rid themselves of the regime, because then there would be no threat.” In his view, a political change in Iran would allow the United States to gain “a new ally in the Middle East.”
He referred to the potential impact of a wave of democratic transformations under the Trump administration: “Imagine the transformation this would represent: the regime of Bashar al-Assad gone, Hezbollah eliminated, Hamas destroyed, Iran transformed into a free and democratic country.”
Thiessen extended his reflection beyond the Middle East and mentioned Latin America. "Venezuela could become a democratic and free ally of the United States, working alongside us to reduce the price of oil," he said.
The analyst added, "I bet that during Donald Trump's term, before his period ends, Cuba will be a free country." This chain of changes would amount to "a democratic transformation of the world not seen since Ronald Reagan and the revolutions of 1989."
He concluded his speech with a firm prediction: "Donald Trump, before leaving office, will visit a free Iran, a free Havana, and a free Caracas. And he will be received as a hero in each of those capitals."
