A video posted on TikTok by the account @usaxpresscargo has gone viral after showcasing the impressive progress in the renovation of a house in Cuba.

In the images, the owner —a Cuban currently living in Miami— proudly showcases how his "little house" on the Island is turning out, and users have quickly congratulated him on the result.

The clip showcases the contrast between the before and after of a bathroom: first, a space under construction, with unplastered walls, blocks, and construction tools; then, a fully finished bathroom, featuring marble-like ceramic floors and walls, a modern sink, and a built-in shower.

"My little house is coming along," the Cuban wrote about the images, which have garnered thousands of reactions and supportive comments. "It's looking so nice," "That’s what hard work looks like," and "I wish all Cubans could live like this" are some of the messages that stand out among users.

Amid the housing crisis and material shortages that Cuba is experiencing, improvements in private homes have become a symbol of effort, perseverance, and hope for many Cubans both inside and outside the country.

The video, shared by a shipping company from the United States, also reflects how the support of the Cuban diaspora—especially from Miami—remains crucial in the reconstruction and improvement of homes on the Island.
