The family of Cuban musician Alfredo Rodríguez reported his passing this Thursday at the age of 74 through a post on his official Facebook profile.
"Alfredito Rodríguez", as the Cuban people affectionately call him, had been living in Miami for many years. Recently, he performed for his audience quite often on stages in the city of the Sun. His passing has shocked his admirers, who come from various generations of Cubans.
“With deep sorrow, our family announces the passing of Alfredito Rodríguez (1951-2026). He leaves behind an immense legacy and an indelible mark on the lives of those who admired and loved him. His memory will always live on in our hearts. We sincerely thank you for the expressions of affection,” stated the message signed by his family members.
The statement generated numerous reactions and expressions of affection towards the artist, whose career left a significant mark on Cuban music and on those who knew him.
His son, the musician Alfredo Rodríguez Jr., shared an emotional message on social media to say goodbye to his father:

The young man also remembered his father with these heartfelt words: "The times of life are not perfect, and we cannot choose them. Coincidentally, my new album is released tomorrow, and today the tour begins. I will be on stage celebrating your life and everything we shared together. I will continue 'Palante y Palante', just as you would have wanted, and we will meet again."
