Exchange rate: Decline in the value of a currency in Cuba

The informal Cuban foreign exchange market has reported a decline in the value of the freely convertible currency (MLC) in recent hours.

At 6:00 a.m. (local time) on this January 23rd, the MLC is selling at an average of 408 CUP, which represents a decrease of seven units compared to the 415 CUP reached by the Free Convertible Currency on the previous day.

In the case of the dollar, the U.S. currency remains at 490 CUP, reached on Tuesday of this week, marking its fourth day of stable value, according to the rate published this Friday by the independent media elTOQUE.   

Also unchanged is the euro, which today is being traded again at 530 CUP, a value reached yesterday.
