A video posted on TikTok shows the preparation of grilled lobsters at a beach restaurant in the Cayo Blanco hotel in Varadero, where the price per plate reaches 20 US dollars.

In the images, filmed by the sea, a chef is grilling seafood while several tourists watch. The video, shared by the user @el.sebas.peluches, has sparked a wave of criticism on social media due to the stark disparity between tourist prices and the income of Cubans.

“20 dollars and a Cuban's salary is 5 a month, what a misfortune it is to have been born in Cuba,” commented a user, reflecting the sentiment of many.

Another person added, "I bet the people of Cuba can't afford to eat them," while others believe the price is too high for just a lobster: "20 dollars for a lobster? Too expensive."

Other internet users also noted that, despite the cost, the lobsters seem to have little meat: “It looks like a big shrimp,” commented one of the users.

The video reignites the debate about social inequality in Cuba, where access to high-quality seafood, such as lobster, is often reserved for international tourism, while the majority of Cubans face insufficient wages and shortages of basic food items.
