The Spanish MEP Hermann Tertsch recently stated in Brussels that "the dictatorship of Cuba will finally fall," while denouncing that the communist regime has been, for decades, the main center of operations for terrorism in Latin America.

The statements took place during the presentation of the report "The Multiple Faces of Terrorism in Cuba," prepared by the CEU-CEFAS center and discussed in the European Parliament.

The event brought together MEPs, experts, and researchers from various countries to analyze the role of Castroism in networks of violence, drug trafficking, and political destabilization, as reported by La Gaceta de la Iberosfera.

Tertsch stated that "the European Union, with its absolute moral relativism, has been one of the great accomplices of the Cuban dictatorship and of the criminal network that originates from Cuba and extends throughout Ibero-America, Africa, and other regions of the world."

He added that Castroism has perfected a system of subversion that combines propaganda, information manipulation, and organized violence.

"Cuba is, without a doubt, the head of the snake, a machinery of terror that has sown disinformation and violence for decades," said the MEP.

"There are no episodes of violence in America in the second half of the last century and so far in this one that are not related, in one way or another, to the intelligence services and the Cuban military apparatus," he emphasized.

During his intervention, Tertsch described the regime as "a government of violence and terror" and asserted that the failure of socialism on the island is "monstrous and visible in every corner of Havana," which he compared to a bombed city.

"What exists in Cuba today resembles a war-torn scenario, with ruins, hunger, and a society steeped in pain. This was not caused by war; it was caused by socialism," he emphasized.

The MEP explained that, after the fall of the Soviet Union, Fidel Castro found in the Brazilian Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a key ally to reconfigure the influence of communism in Latin America.

"From that alliance emerged the Sao Paulo Forum, a network that strengthened after Hugo Chávez came to power in Venezuela and with oil prices reaching 150 dollars, which financed an entire subversive structure on the continent," he noted.

Tertsch emphasized that the so-called "second Trump administration" marked a turning point by recognizing the magnitude of the threats that, according to him, Cuba has posed to the national security of the United States.

"All the accumulation of threats to U.S. security in the subcontinent over the last 50 years is controlled and designed by Cuba. Cuban intelligence services have taken the legacy of the KGB to levels of modern and terrifying sophistication," he stated.

The MEP also linked the actions of the Castro regime to phenomena of social and political decomposition in the West, such as violent protests in the United States and ideological degradation in universities.

"The riots in Minnesota and the moral decline in American academic life would not be understood without the influence of the Frankfurt School and the coordinated actions of Cuban communist cadres," he stated.

Tertsch also accused the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) of maintaining relations with the Cuban embassy in Brussels.

"The PSOE is coordinating its actions in the European Parliament with the Cuban embassy. This is a very serious fact that demonstrates the level of penetration and blackmail by the regime," he warned.

He also criticized the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, for his "obsequious attitude" towards Havana and for maintaining cooperation with "a terrorist dictatorship."

Tertsch reiterated that Cuba is "the main promoter of terrorism, violence, and subversion throughout America" and held the European Union responsible for maintaining ties with a "criminal and failed" regime.

"It is outrageous that Europe continues to fund the regime. The dictatorship will fall very soon after the collapse of the Venezuelan regime," he said.

The MEP also stated that Castroism was "the first to use drug trafficking for subversive purposes" and celebrated that "President Donald Trump has finally seen the evidence that Cuba is the source of evil on the continent."

The report presented by CEU-CEFAS documents six decades of ties between Castroism and international terrorism, from its support for the Colombian ELN and the Italian Red Brigades to its cooperation with the Medellín Cartel and the ETA band.

The participating researchers agreed that Cuba maintains active routes for the trafficking of arms, drugs, and people with the protection of its communist elite.

Tertsch concluded his speech with a warning to European institutions: "As long as Europe continues to look the other way and funds a dictatorship that oppresses, spreads disinformation, and exports violence, democracy on the continent will be under threat."

"But that dictatorship will fall, and it will fall sooner than many think."
