After 12 years without being able to hug her loved ones, a young Cuban shared on TikTok the moment of her return home. The user identified as @yadelys_x3 posted a video that shows her arrival in Cuba and the reunion with her family, a moment filled with emotion.
“At last. I returned to Cuba after 12 years. Aunt, I already miss you so much, and I miss Cuba,” the young woman wrote alongside the clip, where she can be seen hugging her family members after more than a decade away from the country. In another part of the video, she added a phrase that captures the emotion of the moment: “How many years without being able to hug my cousin, my aunt, and my grandparents.”
The images show the warm welcome from their loved ones and the emotions that overflowed during the reunion. In the comments, several users sent messages of affection and blessings: “How beautiful, Yade,” “A thousand blessings.”
The video, accompanied by the song "Yo Volveré" by El Uniko, joins a wave of posts from Cubans documenting their return to their homeland after many years away. Each reunion, different in context but similar in emotion, revives the same feeling of nostalgia and belonging that so many Cuban migrants share.
