The Base Business Unit (UEB) of National Buses Granma announced this Friday the temporary suspension of several routes for interprovincial transport departing from that province, a measure that impacts services to Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, and Camagüey, as well as a nighttime departure to Havana.
According to the official communication cited in the report, the service from Bayamo to Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, and Camagüey is suspended. The service from Manzanillo to Santiago de Cuba is also halted.
In addition, the entity reported that it suspends the alternate day departures on the Bayamo–Havana route, which operated at 10:30 PM.

The authorities of Ómnibus Nacionales in Las Tunas also announced the suspension of all interprovincial departures starting this Friday, February 6, due to the worsening fuel crisis the country is facing.
Only the express service to Havana at 9:00 PM will be maintained, while the alternate route to Matanzas is also suspended.
In recent days, the University of Havana announced a temporary shift to a blended learning format for 30 days and the postponement of the University Congress 2026 due to the energy deficit.
In Camagüey, internal sources reported the suspension of gasoline transportation and sales, as well as adjustments to teaching schedules and cultural activities.
Meanwhile, the University of Holguín has reportedly sent the scholarship students home and suspended classes until March, also as a direct consequence of the lack of energy and fuel.
