A Cuban content creator has gone viral on social media after sharing a direct and thoughtful message about the moment Cuba is experiencing and the change that many anticipate.
Yatmara, known on digital platforms as @yamitejidosacrochet, explained in a recent video why she claims to have no fear of what’s coming.
"I am not afraid because conflicts lead to development, and when we have hit rock bottom, the only thing left for us is to rise," stated the Cuban mother in a message that has resonated with thousands of people both inside and outside the Island.
It made it clear that the fear of a decline in living conditions no longer makes sense when precariousness is a part of everyday life.
"I am not afraid of blackouts, of cooking with firewood or coal, of walking miles and miles to get food or to work. I am not afraid because I have been doing it for a long time," she expressed firmly.
The content creator emphasized that for many Cubans, living in scarcity and extreme shortages is not a future possibility but a reality that has been entrenched for years.
"Living in scarcity and precariousness has already become our reality," he stated, clearly alluding to the economic and social strain that the population is enduring.
Far from a triumphalist discourse, Yatmara opted for an attitude of resilience and hope. “We must face what’s coming in the best way possible and trust in God and in time, which often provides good solutions to bitter situations,” she concluded.
