The banking authorities of Camagüey announced a temporary reduction in public service hours as part of the measures taken in response to the complex energy situation the country is facing.
According to Televisión Camagüey in a statement released on Facebook, the measures were agreed upon between the Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA), the Banco de Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC), and the provincial Electric Company, aiming to reorganize essential services amid power outages and fuel shortages.
New measures in the banking sector
According to the official information provided by Enrique Atienzar from the newspaper Adelante, the banking sector will operate under a reduced scheme: Manual service will be maintained from Monday to Friday. The public hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On Saturdays, the service will be limited to receiving deposits at two specific branches: Branch 5942 La Vigía (BPA), Branch 5961 Cisneros (BANDEC).
In that case, the schedule will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Additionally, during the payment to retirees, a dedicated booth will be set up for them and for economic actors, in order to better organize the service.
Provisions of the Electric Company
Alongside the banking adjustments, the Electric Company in Camagüey also reported new measures related to service billing and energy consumption control:
The counter payment will remain available at all branches from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A 24-hour telephone service is available at the number 18888 for complaints and inquiries.
In addition, the authorities announced that the assembly and installation of solar systems purchased by the community will soon begin, following requests made through Copextel.
Service interruptions as a punitive measure
Among the strictest measures, it was reported that electricity service will be cut off to both state and non-state entities that violate the established consumption limits, as part of the actions to address the energy deficit.
