Ulises Toirac clarified on social media that his personal profile does not serve a political agenda and urged his followers to respect the diverse nature of his posts.

"That's not the profile of a politician. It's not even the profile of a comedian. It's the profile of a person whose job is that of a comedian and who has a political opinion," wrote the comedian on his Facebook account.

The artist explained that he does not exclusively create humor nor does he turn every post into a political statement. He noted that he shares content about what he experiences, thinks, or worries about, which includes personal and professional topics as well as opinions on the reality of the country.

Toirac criticized those who react with slogans like "Homeland and Life" on posts unrelated to political debate, such as when he shares images of his dog, or with "Homeland or Death" when promoting his book Locos de barrio.

Although he acknowledged that everyone has the right to comment, he believed that such interventions are out of context.

To illustrate his point, he compared the situation to interrupting a conversation that is already in progress and saying something unrelated to the topic.

"Slides, but doesn’t hit," he stated with his peculiar oratory style.

The message from the comedian reflects the atmosphere of polarization that often spills over into the digital spaces of Cuban public figures, where even personal content ends up eliciting political reactions.

With his publication, Toirac made it clear that his profile is a personal space where he exercises both his profession and his right to express opinions, without it necessarily turning every post into an ideological debate.

Despite his writing, internet users have identified his Facebook profile as a space for critiquing current issues in Cuban society.

In this regard, for example, recently Toirac publicly questioned the decision of the Provincial Court of Holguín to deny the habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of the young people associated with the independent project El4tico, and stated that the resolution reflects a discretionary interpretation of the law.

"It would set a bad precedent. It's not about what would have been just, but rather what is logical. The court in Holguín denies the habeas corpus for the kids from #el4tico based on a law that allows for bending the limits as desired. A subjective interpretation. The battle of ideas is a massacre," he wrote on his Facebook profile.
