The authorities in Holguín will begin issuing temporary special permits for electric tricycles and mopeds, aimed at supporting the transportation of goods and passengers amid the exceptional situation facing the province and the country.
The measure was announced by René Rodríguez Morales, the delegate of the Minister of Transport in Holguín, who explained on that an official survey and registration of authorized vehicles will be conducted, including data about the owner, license plate or invoice, driver's license, and current technical inspection.
Vehicles must have up-to-date certification from the Technical Inspection of the ERTA.
In the capital municipality, this procedure will be carried out at the ERTA Somaton; in Moa, at the mobile technical inspection unit; and in the other municipalities, before the inspection committee of the Provincial Transport Company.
Natural persons must comply with the provisions of Law 109 on the Traffic and Transit Code, holding licenses in the relevant categories according to the type of vehicle.
In the case of tricycles without registration, owners may apply for an operating license as long as they meet the established requirements.
The authorized means of transportation will be organized at terminals under the control of the Provincial Transport Company.
In addition, a fee will be proposed to the Provincial Directorate of Finance and Prices for approval, with charges supported by invoices and official receipts.
The authorization will be signed by the director or head of the Municipal Transportation Department, as part of the measures taken to try to alleviate the current limitations in the transportation service.
