A passenger reported on social media a prolonged delay on a trip by the state company Viazul due to a lack of fuel on the Holguín-Havana route.

Manuela Isabel Pasten Rodríguez shared her experience in the Facebook group "Tips for Traveling to Cuba," where she explained that she had a ticket for February 7th on the Holguín-Havana Airport, Terminal 3 route, with a scheduled departure at 8:15 in the morning.

However, the bus did not depart until 3:00 PM, according to his testimony, because there was no fuel.

The passenger indicated that she had a flight the next day at 7:00 a.m. and was afraid of missing it due to the delay. She ultimately managed to arrive on time but advised other travelers to leave well in advance for Havana if they have a scheduled flight to avoid similar setbacks.

As evidence of his complaint, he published images of the Viazul terminal and photographs taken at a terminal in Holguín while waiting for the bus to depart.

The incident occurs amid difficulties in fuel supply that are affecting transportation on the island and causing interruptions and delays in various services.

In this regard, the Ministry of Transport (MITRANS) announced last Friday a package of adjustments and suspensions in national and local transportation services due to the current emergency.

The measures include a drastic reduction in the number of domestic train departures, the suspension of waiting lists, and restrictions on the transfer of workers, prioritizing sectors such as health, ports, and airports.

According to the information released on the Mesa Redonda, starting from 12 midnight on that Friday, the service of national trains was adjusted to one departure every eight days towards each destination.

The published list mentioned the routes: Havana–Santiago de Cuba / Santiago de Cuba–Havana, Havana–Guantánamo / Guantánamo–Havana, Havana–Holguín / Holguín–Havana, and Havana–Bayamo–Manzanillo / Manzanillo–Bayamo–Havana.

MITRANS also announced the suspension of the current Waitlists service and specified that the Last Minute Terminals will not be operational.
