The U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Monday that his State of the Union address will be "long."

Trump stated that he has "a lot to discuss" regarding the state of the Union, reported Efe.

"We have a country that is doing well now. We have the best economy we have ever had, the greatest activity we have ever experienced. Tomorrow night I will give a speech, and you will hear me say this same thing. It will be lengthy because we have a lot to discuss," said the Republican, who already set a record last year when his appearance before Congress lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes

Efe recalls that this year's speech is set against a backdrop of heightened tension between Trump and the judicial establishment, following the Supreme Court's invalidation of his tariff policy, as well as the revelations in the Epstein case.

On Saturday, just hours after the United States Supreme Court declared the majority of global tariffs imposed under emergency powers illegal, Trump struck back with an announcement that once again shook the global trade landscape: a global tariff of 15% to take effect immediately and a warning that it could increase.

In a message posted on his social media Truth Social, Trump confirmed that he will impose tariffs on countries that, in his view, have been “scamming the U.S. for decades” and indicated the possibility of further increases in the coming months. “The Administration will determine and issue the legally permissible new tariffs,” he wrote, in a defiant tone following the legal setback.
