The Cuban singer Haydée Milanés once again touched her followers with a gesture full of symbolism and filial love. On what would have been Pablo Milanés's 83rd birthday, the artist chose to pay tribute to her father with a very special tattoo: the chorus of the song “Son para despertar a una negrita”, written in the troubadour's own handwriting.

In an emotional post on her official Facebook profile, Haydée recalled that she was “6 or 7 years old” when she asked her father to write a song just for her. “It seems that seeing him dedicate songs made me want one too,” she wrote.

According to her account, one day after returning from school, Pablo Milanés took her to the room where he composed and sang her the song he had just created for her. “I was very happy and gave him a kiss, even though I wasn’t fully aware of the significance of that moment,” the artist confessed, reminiscing about one of the most intimate memories of her childhood.

To celebrate the occasion, he decided to carry that story on his skin. “Today my father would have turned 83 years old, and I’m celebrating with a tattoo of the chorus from his song, ‘Son para despertar a una negrita.’ What’s the design? His own handwriting,” he explained in the same message, which he accompanied with images of the process at the tattoo studio.

The interpreter also thanked the artists responsible for the work: “Thank you @ramonink and @crabbabyy for this beautiful gift, for your good energy and that of your space @respectthecrab. I am very happy!!”.

The post included childhood photographs alongside the founder of the Nueva Trova Movement, as well as several moments of the tattoo in progress, which generated a wave of reactions and affectionate messages from his followers.

"Light for your beautiful spirit, Dad, thank you for all your love. A hug for all of you who are reading me," concluded Haydée Milanés, in a tribute that not only celebrates the memory of one of the great figures of Cuban music but also the profound bond between father and daughter shaped by artistic creation and familial love.
