On February 28, the Cuban regime condemned the military attacks launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, amidst the escalating hostilities announced by President Donald Trump.

Through his , Chancellor Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla stated: “Cuba condemns the attacks carried out this morning, February 28, by Israel and the United States against Iran, violating its sovereignty and territorial integrity, occurring for the second time while discussions regarding the nuclear issue were ongoing.”

Rodríguez described the actions as "irresponsible" and stated that they "undermine international peace and security, and constitute a clear violation of International Law and the UN Charter."

He also warned that "the international community must mobilize to immediately stop the treacherous aggression."

The chancellor's statements come after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the beginning of "major combat operations in Iran" in coordination with Israel.

In a message shared on Truth Social, the President stated that the operation aims to "defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime" and reiterated that Tehran "can never have a nuclear weapon."

The offensive, which includes bombings in Tehran and other strategic areas, marks a significant escalation in the Middle East. So far, no official casualty figures have been confirmed, and the military operation is still ongoing.

The statements from the Cuban chancellor come in a context of heightened tension between Havana and Washington, particularly after President Donald Trump claimed on Friday that he would soon begin a “friendly and controlled takeover” of Cuba.
