Bruno Rodríguez thanks Cubans abroad who "stand by the Homeland" despite political differences

The Cuban regime's chancellor Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked the Cubans who “even with political differences” take the “side of the Homeland in times of danger.”

"At this moment of difficulties and dangers, we have found among the expressions of support and commitment to Cuba those from Cubans residing in various parts of the world, both with verbal and declarative backing, as well as expressions of material assistance, some of which are significant," said Rodríguez on X.

"This includes Cubans in the U.S., who have had to act with caution and discretion due to the climate of harassment and threat they face there. They are showing that, when necessary, they step up," he added.

The statements from the regime's chief diplomat stand in contrast to theexpressions of rejection that recently exiled Cubans showed him during his visit to Madrid.

Last Monday, before a meeting with the Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, Rodríguez Parrilla was met by a small group of Cuban activists who shouted insults and slogans against the regime he represents.

The meeting with Albares, confirmed by Foreign Ministry sources to EFE, took place in the Spanish capital during Rodríguez's layover after an official visit to China on the way back to Havana.

The protesters present expressed their rejection of the Castro official with shouts such as "Miserable!", "Murderer!", "Shameless!" and "We want a free Cuba!", denouncing the fact that while the Cuban people live in extreme poverty, the minister continues to make trips that do not address the serious issues facing the island.

Rodríguez has traveled in recent weeks in search of help for the suffocated regime of Havana amid Trump's pressures.

Last Wednesday, he was received in the Kremlin by Putin, who reaffirmed that Russia will "always" stand by Havana in the face of what he described as the "energy blockade" by the United States.

During the meeting, Putin stated that Russia has "always" stood "by Cuba in its struggle for independence and the right to follow its own path," and added that this is a "special period, with new sanctions," to which — he said — Moscow does not accept "anything similar."

Rodríguez expressed gratitude for the "Russian solidarity" shown—according to the text—by the president and the Russian government "in a firm and continuous manner."
