The Cuban pitcher Danel Reyes has finally reached an agreement with a Major League organization and will sign with the Houston Astros, according to a report by journalist Francys Romero.

The agreement is pending a physical examination, a usual step before finalizing the contract, added the insider on their various platforms.

A long way from 2023

Reyes, originally from Las Tunas, began his journey toward professionalism in 2023 and has been working in the Dominican Republic in search of an opportunity in organized baseball.

The pitcher was considered one of the best talents of the Cuba U-15 team in 2022 and belongs to the TBT Baseball Academy.

Pitcher Profile

The right-hander —according to reports from his surroundings— works with a fastball that hovers between 90 and 93 miles per hour, presenting himself as a young arm with room for development within the minor league system.

The agreement represents an important step in Reyes' career, which has gone through a lengthy process before finalizing his arrival at an MLB franchise.

If you pass the medical exam satisfactorily, your signing with Houston will become official in the coming days.
