President Donald Trump warned that Iran will soon know the response of the United States following the drone attack against the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and stated that he does not currently see the need to send ground troops.

The statements were collected by White House correspondent Kellie Meyer from NewsNation, who reported on her X account that she spoke with the president after the incident at the diplomatic headquarters.

According to the journalist, Trump assured that "you will soon know" what the retaliation will be for the attack on the embassy and for the deaths of U.S. service members.

When asked about the possibility of deploying troops on the ground, the president responded that it would only happen if necessary.

"I don't think they will be necessary," he affirmed, while avoiding detailing what the threshold would be to make that decision.

Meyer also asked him if he is concerned about new attacks against U.S. facilities abroad or even within the country.

Trump responded that no, and pointed out that "it's part of the war," whether one likes it or not, according to the reporter's citation.

Regarding the current situation in Iran, the president responded that it will be known “very soon,” without providing further details.

He also stated that his objectives in that country are "very close" to being achieved and that he will know when they have been fulfilled.

The attack on the embassy in Riyadh was attributed to two drones and, according to Saudi authorities, caused a limited fire and minor material damage, with no initial reports of injuries.

The incident occurs amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
