The Cuban-American congressman Carlos Giménez stated that recent events in Iran demonstrate that when the population loses its fear, change becomes possible, and he maintained that Cuba could be the next scene of political transformation.

In statements to CNN, Giménez asserted that the Iranian regime "must go" and described it as a brutal government that has threatened the world for decades and repressed its own citizens.

"I support what the president is doing," he stated in reference to Donald Trump's policy towards Tehran.

When asked if the president should consider a similar stance towards Cuba, the legislator responded that the president has already sent a clear message to Havana to negotiate.

"If I were the Cuban regime, I would take it seriously," he noted.

Giménez stated that Trump is "a man of action" who backs his words with deeds, and he advised Cuban authorities to come to the table while they have the chance.

The congressman shared a clip of the interview on his social media along with a message in which he stated that what the world witnessed in Iran serves as a reminder that when people lose their fear, change becomes possible.

He added that for decades, Cubans have endured repression and scarcity, but the desire for freedom has not faded. "Cuba is next," he wrote, while asking if the Cuban people are ready for a turning point.
