A group of young Christians and libertarians recently gathered in Havana for a meeting that, as reported by some of its participants on social media, aimed to strengthen unity and dialogue among Cubans who share concerns about the country's future.

“The day libertarians and Christians united,” wrote the young David Espinosa while describing the meeting in a Facebook post, where he shared images from the gathering and a detailed account of what happened.

According to his testimony, the meeting took place on a Saturday in a residence in the capital and brought together several young people who talked, shared, and recorded a video together. “It was a Saturday like any other,” Espinosa wrote as he began his account of the day, which he described as a moment of closeness despite the differences among the attendees.

In the meeting participated, among others, the influencer and content creator Anna Sofía Benítez Silvente, known on social media as Anna Bensi, Iván Daniel Calás Navarro, as well as other young individuals linked to Christian spaces and public debates about the country's situation.

Espinosa shared that he arrived as the last guest at the meeting and that the atmosphere was one of trust from the very beginning. "And from the moment I walked through the door, I felt as if we had known each other for a lifetime," he wrote.

The group conversed for hours and also recorded a video outside the house. The process, as narrated by Espinosa himself, included several attempts to achieve a suitable shot.

"We developed a strategy. A strategy that we ultimately had to dissolve because the capture didn’t go well, and we had to go back down," he recounted.

In his post, the young man also described the atmosphere of nervousness and anticipation while they were filming on the street, as well as the moment when neighbors began to watch or photograph the scene.

“Prudence increased, but we also didn’t want to seem overbearing. Some neighbors in the distance began filming or taking photos of us… and, thank God, the shot finally came out,” he wrote.

The meeting concluded with the recording of the video and a message that Espinosa himself summarized in his post: "And the message came out quickly and accurately: United, despite our differences... for a new Cuba."

The message was spread on social media accompanied by hashtags such as #HiloSiloeTano, #MakeCubaGreatAgain, #CubaParaCristo, and #FreeEl4tico.

In another post related to the event, the page Fuera de la Caja Cuba stated: "The Cuban youth is more united than ever… #makecubagreatagain."

The meeting takes place amid a growing prominence of young Christians who, through social media, have begun to speak out more frequently about the realities of the country and the role of faith in Cuban society.

Among them is the photographer and content creator Iván Daniel Calás Navarro, who recently stated: “No, we do not want a political case. We have much to lose, and we know it,” and also wrote: “The fear is over,” amidst the debate on whether believers should speak out about the national situation, as noted in this context regarding his statements on social media.

Espinosa himself previously shared a video in which he questioned the silence regarding the country's situation and stated that “when a human power seeks to take the place that only belongs to God, speaking ceases to be an option and becomes a duty,” as can be seen in his message shared on social media.

On her part, Anna Bensi has become one of the most visible young voices on social media within the island. The influencer has criticized in various videos what she describes as silence or double standards regarding the national reality and has reported pressures and episodes of harassment against her, amid a context that can be seen in her recent posts and reactions generated on social media.

Messages from young believers that blend religious reflections with commentary on the country's situation have sparked public debate about the role of faith in Cuban society, as reflected in various reactions to a video shared by several of these young people on social media.

The encounter described by Espinosa is part of that dynamic, where young people with diverse sensitivities seek spaces for conversation and articulation amidst the economic crisis, mass emigration, and the political tensions affecting the country.

At the end of his post, the young man summed up the experience with a straightforward phrase: "And the message came out quickly and clearly: UNITED, despite the differences... for a new Cuba."
