A recent post in the Facebook group Santa Clara en Instantáneas has sparked numerous reactions among users by showing images of the so-called old terminal in Santa Clara that is nearly empty and, according to the author of the post, "underutilized."

The post, accompanied by two photographs of the interior of the facility featuring empty benches and little passenger activity, has garnered hundreds of reactions and more than a hundred comments from users who recall the terminal's past and question its current situation.

Some comments highlight the contrast between the current state of the building and the bustling activity it experienced for decades. One user wrote, “That terminal was always packed with people...”

Another comment highlighted the historical significance of the place within the transportation system of the country: “In its time, it was one of the most modern bus terminals in the country, featuring a café, post office, pharmacy, and grocery store, only surpassed by the bus terminal in Havana.”

Many people also expressed nostalgia for the trips they used to take from there to various municipalities in Villa Clara and other nearby areas. One of the messages reads: "How many lovely memories of my childhood in that terminal!"

Other users attribute the lack of activity to the deterioration of the transportation system on the island. One comment states, “The old, the new, if there are no buses,” while another points out, “There’s no transportation anywhere, how can there be?”

Criticism also emerged regarding the fate of the facility and the deterioration of the infrastructure. One user commented, “What will become of it, let it be destroyed like everything else in this city?” while another wrote, “That terminal is a reflection of what Cuba is like today: dark, lonely, and sad.”

Among the opinions, there were also proposals for potential future uses for the building, ranging from unifying the city's transport terminals to adapting it for other services.

The terminal, which for years was one of the main departure and arrival points for travelers in Santa Clara, is part of the everyday memory of many city residents, who recall the place for the number of routes, services, and the constant flow of passengers it had in past decades.

The images circulating on social media have sparked renewed debate among users regarding the current state of transportation and the future of facilities that once played a central role in the urban life of the city.
