Dominican actor and comedian Aquiles Correa, known for his role in the popular Caribbean film Sanky Panky, sparked debate on social media after expressing strong criticism of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro during a recent interview.

When asked about the former Cuban leader on the television program "Too Much," Correa responded with a phrase that quickly went viral: "Fidel Castro is proof that the devil has competition."

The actor continued with a harsh assessment of the figure of the dictator, holding him accountable for ruining Cuba and for politically influencing other countries in Latin America.

"There is nothing worse than an intelligent and evil man. He is evil twice over. Because someone who is foolish and bad does not realize that what he is doing is wrong," he asserted during the conversation.

Correa also stated that Castro "destroyed a country and spread his poison throughout America," while citing examples of countries that, in his view, have suffered severe consequences after adopting similar political models.

"There are the cases of Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, and others that attempted to follow that path," he noted.

The comedian also mentioned former Dominican president Joaquín Balaguer, whom he credited with preventing communism from taking hold in the Dominican Republic.

"Thank God, and we must thank Joaquín Balaguer for preventing communism from arriving here," he stated.

Correa even made a biting comment about Castro's death: “He shouldn't have died so peacefully, but I know that in hell the little devils are having a good time.”

The actor also stated that his opinions are not based on others' accounts, but rather on personal experiences: "I lived it; it wasn't told to me. I spent two years under that system because I believed in the façade called communism."

Finally, he criticized those who publicly defend the Cuban dictator from countries where freedom of expression exists: “Every time I see an idiot in the media using a microphone to speak in favor of Fidel Castro, I think that if they lived under that regime, they wouldn’t be able to speak with that same microphone.”
