A Cuban resident in the United States explained on TikTok the reasons that led her to return to Cuba with her husband, a decision that she said was mainly motivated by her daughter.
In a video posted on the account @massiemtrimio, the woman clarified that she did not return to the island for the reasons that many users have speculated on social media, but rather due to a family decision related to the time she wanted to regain with her daughter.
"I don’t have to explain myself to anyone, but since I enjoy doing it and I feel good about it, I think I should explain," he said at the beginning of the video.
According to her explanation, she decided to return to live in Cuba for the most important reason of her life: her daughter. The Cuban woman recounted that when they emigrated to the United States in search of a better future, they had to leave their youngest in Cuba, a situation that increasingly weighed on them over time.
“With time, you realize that that future is uncertain and that the most important thing God gives you is children. The greatest blessing is watching them grow and enjoying every moment of their lives,” she expressed.
The woman recounted that she and her husband realized they wanted to reclaim the childhood time they could still share with their daughter, even if that meant giving up certain material opportunities.
"Recovering the time he has left of his childhood is worth more than anything material," he stated.
She also responded to those who have criticized her for her decision to return to the island, assuring that she does not believe she has harmed her daughter's future.
"I don't believe I ruined her future, as many think. On the contrary, I believe I improved her present by having her mother and father by her side," he pointed out.
The Cuban woman also clarified that her return to Cuba does not mean she had a bad experience in the United States. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunities and the people she met during her time in that country.
"I never said that I didn't like the United States. On the contrary, I am very grateful for everything I experienced there. The United States is and will always be part of my story," she concluded.
The video has sparked various reactions on social media, with some users supporting his decision based on family reasons, while others question the return to the island amid the profound economic and social crisis that Cuba is experiencing.
