A Cuban family had to wake up at dawn to make the most of just a few hours of electricity amid the prolonged blackouts affecting much of the country.

The scene was shared on social media by the Cuban content creator @alain_eleggua, who showed how everyone in his home woke up to get a head start on household chores.

According to what Alain explained in a second video, the power came back around 3 in the morning, an unusual time but one that has become quite common for many Cubans.

“They put it on at a little after 3 in the morning and took it off again at 5 in the morning,” he commented.

Given the electricity shortage for the rest of the day, the family decided to get up immediately to take advantage of the brief service.

“They put it back on today at 3:00 a.m. I think these people have a plot to keep us from sleeping, man,” said the content creator while showing how they began to do household chores.

The situation reflects the impact of prolonged blackouts in Cuba. In many areas, power outages exceed 18 hours a day, while in some regions, residents claim they receive barely two hours of electricity service daily.

For thousands of families, daily routines have changed: cooking, washing, or charging phones now depends on the unexpected moment when the electricity returns.
