Residents of the Cerro municipality in Havana, reported the danger of collapse of an old school located next to a housing complex where many families reside, including children and the elderly.

The alert was published on Facebook by the user Yosandry Oliva, who shared videos showing the dilapidated condition of the old Ramón Rosainz school, located at Monte 976, between Esteves and Castillo.

The images show deteriorated walls, damaged structures, and areas that, according to the neighbors, could collapse at any moment, posing a risk to those living nearby.

Oliva stated that many people, including minors, reside in the adjacent city, and questioned the lack of response from the authorities regarding the situation.

"Do we have to lose a family member? Where is the dignified housing? Where are the rights of children?" he wrote in his post.

In the videos shared on social media, the neighbor also warned that the abandoned structure is in critical condition and that the risk of collapse could directly affect the residents of the area.

"The government does nothing; there is no solution to the problem. It's only when there are dead or injured that they take action," he stated.

Oliva also reported that materials are being extracted from the old school, which could be worsening the deterioration of the building.

According to him, someone with access to the keys would be removing items from the place.

The report concludes with an urgent call to the authorities to assess the situation and take measures before an accident occurs in the area.
