A woman in Santiago de Cuba reported that a red private truck crashed into the wall of her home while backing up, and that after the collision, the driver left the scene without stopping to check for damages or whether anyone was injured.

According to the report disseminated by the affected party, writer Maria J Chávez, the incident occurred at the intersection of San Francisco and Calvario, an area she described as having “poor visibility” and among the “most dangerous in the city.”

According to their account, the vehicle struck the house in the morning of the incident, and the force of the impact left the door of the home completely blocked.

The complainant stated that they cannot open it "without the risk of bricks falling" on her family or worsening a structural damage that, she said, has not yet been assessed in its entirety.

The woman claimed that the driver acted with complete indifference after the crash. “He didn't even stop, didn't get out to see what he had hit, and didn't try to find out if he had injured or killed anyone.

"He continued as if nothing had happened," she wrote in her complaint. In that same text, she emphasized that the speed at which the truck must have been reversing had to be high, precisely because it was a spot with reduced visibility.

According to the affected individual, the incident has left her family homeless. "My family is out on the street, on the street," she expressed.

He also added that his cat was left inside the property, alone, meowing and scared, because the main entrance is unusable due to the damage caused by the impact.

The complainant assured that she has the license plate of the vehicle involved, although she specified that she would not make it public immediately.

He explained that the case was already "in the hands of the police" and stated that the driver was still at large at the time of spreading his message. He also said he was giving him a deadline "until tomorrow morning" to come forward and resolve the situation before disclosing more information.

In her post, the woman also issued a public warning to the person responsible for the crash and requested help to spread awareness of the case.

"Please share. Let this individual know that they cannot escape as if nothing happened after what they did," he demanded. The text concludes with the exact location of the incident: San Francisco corner Calvario, in Santiago de Cuba.
