A fire occurred this Sunday at the iconic Los Escolapios church in Guanabacoa, Havana.
According to neighbors in the area confirmed to CiberCuba, the fire has already been brought under control by the firefighters.
Videos circulated on social media showing the flames coming from inside the historic building, and the official page of Los Escolapios in Cuba displayed the smoke from the building and the efforts of the firefighters to extinguish it.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
This fire occurs in a week where protests against the regime have erupted in Havana and Havana residents from various neighborhoods have set garbage on fire in the streets as a form of protest.
Also, last Friday, the residents set fire to the local headquarters of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Morón, Ciego de Ávila, amid popular protests and reports of gunfire that left at least one young person injured.
