Why does the international left defend a dynasty in Cuba?

We just saw it again with the so-called Convoy Nuestra América, featuring activists, politicians, and figures from the international left —including prominent Europeans like Pablo Iglesias— strolling through Havana, meeting with the regime's leadership, and repeating the same script as always.

They talk about "resistance," "blockade," "dignity." But they don't say a word about the most obvious detail: in Cuba power is not in the people, it is in one family.

And now it is no longer even concealed. There is "Cangrejo", the grandson of Raúl Castro, appearing in key meetings, moving as an operator of real power, participating in high-level decisions and contacts without having been elected by anyone. A full-fledged dynastic succession.

Is this the model they advocate for?

Because in their countries, it is the same people who protest against any form of privilege, who shout "no kings", who declare themselves anti-monarchy, who denounce the elites… but in Cuba they applaud a system where power is inherited by blood and institutions are little more than decoration.

And while they engage in ideological tourism, the reality for the average Cuban is quite different: constant blackouts, shortages, salaries that are insufficient, and no ability to decide their future.

But none of that seems to matter to them.

At this point, the question is inevitable: how can such a level of blindness be explained?

There are only two options:
either they don't understand what they're seeing...
or they prefer not to tell the truth.
