The Toronto Blue Jays have sent the Pinar del Río pitcher Lázaro Estrada to the minors after an inconsistent performance during Spring Training that wasn't enough to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster, according to Pelota Cubana.

On the social network Facebook, the specialized site reported that the right-handed pitcher recorded an effectiveness of 4.76 in 11.1 innings of work, during which he allowed 13 hits, six runs, and three home runs.

Although he achieved two victories and one save during the preseason, his performance did not convince the coaching staff enough to keep him on the main team.

Estrada must now continue his development in Triple A, with the aim of improving his performance and seeking another opportunity in the Major Leagues.
