He saw it and did not remain silent: Cuban 'calls out' Fidel Castro in the middle of the museum

A Cuban sparked a viral moment on social media after coming face to face with a wax statue of Fidel Castro in a museum in New York.

The video, posted on TikTok by user @alisito____, shows the young man reacting with surprise and sarcasm upon encountering the figure of the former Cuban leader, in a scene that many users have interpreted as a symbolic release of frustration.

"I knew that you and I had to meet, buddy," says the Cuban as he stares intently at the statue, his tone a mix of irony and reproach.

The scene has generated thousands of reactions on social media, where numerous Cubans both inside and outside the island have identified with the moment, which is filled with political and emotional significance.

The audiovisual also includes popular phrases such as “two rolling stones meet,” reinforcing the narrative of an inevitable encounter between the citizen and one of the most controversial figures in recent Cuban history.

The video adds to a long list of viral content in which Cubans express, whether through humor or direct criticism, their rejection of the regime's legacy amid the deep economic and social crisis the island is experiencing.
