Cuban influencer Anna Bensi (Anna Sofía Benítez Silvente) acknowledged that she has halted her usual activity on social media due to the atmosphere of tension created by the authorities in the country regarding her and her family.
The content creator published a message in her Instagram stories in which she explained the reasons for her digital absence, following weeks of high media exposure due to her confrontation with the regime.
“I really miss creating my usual content,” he stated, referring to his posts focused on humor and covers, but made it clear that he is not in a position to resume them.
As she stated, her focus is on "the process of my mom and me," referring to the situation she is facing alongside her mother, Caridad Silvente Laffita, who has also been subjected to summons, interrogations, and threats from State Security.
In this context, the young woman emphasized that her "conscience" would not allow her to "post a video as if everything were fine," highlighting the emotional impact of the recent harassment on her family environment.
Her message comes just days after she and her mother were charged under Article 393 of the Cuban Penal Code and placed under house arrest, with restrictions on movement within the country and a ban on leaving for abroad.
The case originated after the publication of a video on social media in which an agent was identified delivering a summons at his home, an act that the authorities classified as a crime related to personal privacy.
Legal analysts have demonstrated the legal nullity and arbitrariness of the proceedings against Anna Bensi and her mother, taking into account inconsistencies in the charges concerning what is established by the Cuban Penal Code and international law regulations.
The human rights organization Cubalex, for instance, argued that recording the police while they are performing their public duties "is not a crime, it is a citizen's right."
The Legal Touch explained that "if the authority argues that the fact falls under article 393, then the police had no jurisdiction to summon, interrogate, file charges, or impose precautionary measures" on the mother of the influencer; as this would contradict article 394 of the same law.
In recent weeks, the young woman has also reported pressures against her close circle, including threats to friends and summonses to family members, in an attempt to stifle her critical activity on social media. Despite this, she reiterated that she would not stop expressing her opinions against the Cuban political system.
In his most recent message, he also included a religious reference, emphasizing the need for unity and freedom for the Island: “When we say ‘Cuba for Christ,’ far from dividing, excluding, indoctrinating, or hating, our intention as Christians is to send a message of HOPE and LIBERATION for the Cuban people.”
