The lifeless discovery of an 18-year-old young man in Santiago de Cuba has raised multiple questions among family members, friends, and residents of the area, following several days of being reported missing.

The case was revealed by communicator Yosmany Mayeta, who reported on Facebook that Daniel Márquez Aguilera was found in a mangrove area in Playa Icacal, in Aserradero, Guamá municipality.

According to the information released, the young man had been missing since last Thursday.

Days later, his body was found under circumstances that, according to close testimonies cited by Mayeta, are troubling and leave many questions unanswered.

According to those reports, the body was found in an area covered with vegetation, which has raised concerns among relatives, who indicate that the location of the discovery does not match the point where the young man was last seen.

Daniel had gone out with a friend identified as Cecilio, who is currently in custody.

According to her testimony, they both separated and then she never heard from him again.

However, the distance between the site where they supposedly parted ways and the location where the body was found has increased the doubts.

Relatives have also pointed out that, due to the extent of the injuries on the corpse, they believe it is unlikely that a single person is involved, although there is currently no official confirmation regarding the cause of death.

The family is awaiting the results of the autopsy conducted in the town of El Cobre, which should clarify what happened.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the body will not be able to be viewed and will be buried in La Ceiba, in Chivirico, alongside his mother who passed away years ago.

The lack of official information has contributed to increasing the uncertainty surrounding the case, while family members demand clear answers about what happened, Mayeta emphasized.

The event takes place in a context where, frequently, violent incidents or deaths under unclear circumstances raise concern among the population due to a lack of transparent information.
