Sandro Castro, grandson of Fidel Castro, revealed in an exclusive interview with CNN the conditions of his apartment in Havana: unpainted walls and a nearly empty fridge, supposedly an image meant to convey that the crisis affecting Cuba even impacts those who bear the dictator's surname.

"We must fight, as all Cubans say. It's tough, very tough… even for a Castro. There's no electricity, no water, the supplies don’t come… it's very difficult," said the young Castro, who has become an "influencer" and entrepreneur.

Sandro openly criticized President Miguel Díaz-Canel stating that the leader is not doing a good job with the decisions that Cuba needed.

"For me, he is not doing a good job, because he should have done many things a long time ago that haven't been done properly and that are currently harming us," stated Sandro Castro, 33, during a conversation held in his apartment in Havana, an area affected by frequent blackouts.

Sandro Castro, grandson of Fidel Castro, "influencer" and nightlife entrepreneur in Havana, stated that his grandfather "was a person who had his principles".

Sandro Castro also acknowledged the hardships faced by the Cuban people, although he has his own electric generator, which puts him in a better position than most of his fellow countrymen.

"We must fight, as all Cubans say. It's tough, very tough… even for a Castro. You suffer from thousands of difficulties: one day there's no electricity, no water, goods don't arrive… it's very hard," he stated.
