The Cuban exile community gathered at the Ermita de la Caridad del Cobre, in Miami, to participate in an emotional Stations of the Cross in prayer for the suffering of the Cuban people and their yearning for freedom.

The church, on its Facebook profile, showcased the journey of the 14 stations of the cross, where participants united their prayers with the symbolism of the passion of Jesus Christ, offering that sacrifice as a reflection of the pain that Cuba has experienced for decades.

The event was marked by a deep spiritual significance, in an atmosphere that reinforced the message of hope.

The calm sea and a golden sunset graced the day, evoking the idea that after suffering comes redemption.

"Cuba will rise again. It will live the dignified life it has awaited for so many years," was one of the central phrases shared during the event, where there was also an expression of conviction that change is getting closer.

The attendees invoked faith as a driving force of resistance, in a context where they believe the Cuban people are experiencing their own "time of cross," marked by economic crisis, repression, and everyday hardships.

"Cuba, rise... your three days in the tomb are coming to an end. Freedom begins to roll away the stone," was another of the messages spread by the Ermita, clearly alluding to the hope of a national rebirth.

The Ermita de la Caridad, a symbol of faith and the identity of the Cuban exile, once again became a venue for gathering, prayer, and the expression of a shared longing: a free, dignified, and peaceful Cuba.
