A group of Cuban artists gathered this Tuesday to bid farewell to the actor Jorge Losada Moreno in an intimate ceremony where they scattered his ashes in the sea.

In the images shared by actress Eileen Acosta León, several artists are seen holding flowers gathered by the seaside to bid farewell to one of the greats of acting in Cuba.

"We bid farewell to Losada with hearts full of memories, of shared laughter, and of moments that will remain forever. Today, his ashes merge with the sea, but his essence lives on in each of us, in every story he told, and in every person who had the luck to know him," Eileen wrote in the post description.

The casting director of ICAIC, Libia Batista, expressed her thoughts with evident emotion and remembered Losada as a wonderful person with whom she had the opportunity to work on many projects, a very intelligent and cultured man.

Losada passed away last Sunday, April 5, in Havana, at the age of 92. Considered an indispensable figure in Cuban theater, Losada left a deep mark on the cinema, theater, and television of the island over decades of career. His filmography includes over 20 titles, including iconic productions such as Soy Cuba and Guantanamera.

In his later years, the actor faced serious challenges and health issues that highlighted the neglect that many Cuban artists experience in their old age.
