Karol G usually doesn't hold back, but this time she acknowledged that there are issues on which she carefully chooses her words. The Colombian singer confessed that she feels pressure when it comes to publicly commenting on the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States.
In a recent interview with Playboy, the artist explained that she has received clear warnings from her surroundings: talking too much could have consequences. “People say, ‘It’s better if you don’t do it’… because if you say anything, you might get a call the next day: ‘Hey, we’re withdrawing your visa’,” she shared. “You become bait for some people who want to show their power,” she added.
Nonetheless, the “Bichota” made it clear that this is a topic that hits close to home. “I can’t stay silent when something hurts me. I’m Latina, and what’s happening to my community is very painful,” she expressed, revealing the internal conflict between what she feels and what she is advised to do.
That dilemma is constant. On one hand, she admits that she would like to speak out without filters. “My team would kill me if I say ‘ICE Out’, but I’d be willing to do it,” she confessed. However, she also acknowledges that it is not all that simple: “It’s something that goes beyond what I have to do to protect myself.”

Beyond the impulse, Karol G also questions the real impact of such messages. “What real impact does saying ‘ICE Out’ have compared to other things that could actually help my community?”, she reflected, showing a more strategic stance on how to use her voice.
In the midst of everything, the artist seems to understand that her position comes with responsibility. "I have a huge platform and I want to stand firm for my community," she stated. It’s a complicated balance between expressing her feelings and safeguarding what she has built, in a context where every word can have consequences.
