President Donald Trump published a strong message on Thursday on his social network Truth Social, in which he directly blamed the Biden administration and the Democratic Party for the brutal crime of a 51-year-old woman at a gas station in Fort Myers, Florida, at the hands of an illegal Haitian immigrant.
The alleged killer is Rolbert Joachim, a 40-year-old Haitian who entered the United States in August 2022. He was released under the Biden administration and received Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Although his status expired in 2024 and he had a final deportation order issued by a federal judge, he remained in the country.
The attack occurred on April 3 at a Chevron gas station on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Fort Myers, where the victim, a mother working as a cashier, was repeatedly struck in the head with a hammer. Joachim confessed to the crime in a pre-trial hearing.
Trump described the crime: "An illegal foreign criminal from Haiti, who was released in our country by the worst president in history, the corrupt Joe Biden, and the radical Democrats in Congress, has just bludgeoned an innocent woman to death with a hammer at a gas station in Florida."
"This animal was allowed to stay here because the Biden administration granted him, and all Haitians, 'Temporary Protected Status', a massively abused and fraudulent program that my administration is working to end, but the crazy liberal judges in the district courts are standing in our way," he added.
Trump also shared the surveillance video of the attack, but warned about its content.
"It’s so terrible, but I felt the obligation to share it so that people can see what the Democrats are protecting and want to bring into our country, even now, after everything we’ve been through. Viewer discretion is advised: it is not for children," she clarified.
The leader demanded that the federal judges stop obstructing his policies: "This single murder should be enough for these radical judges to cease hindering the immigration policies of my administration and allow us to put an end to this scam once and for all."
In one of the publication's harshest excerpts, he accused Biden and the Democratic Party of having destroyed the country.
"They turned the United States of America into a dumping ground, allowing tens of millions of criminals, lunatics, and mentally ill individuals from all over the world to enter our country, completely unchecked and uncontrolled through our open borders," he stated.
It was in this context that Trump reiterated his well-known phrase: "As I have always said, if you import the Third World, you become the Third World, and that is what happened during the four years of Democratic control."
The president also issued a warning about the future.
"We are trying to quickly reverse this decline through deportations, but if the Democrats get another chance in power, they will immediately reopen the border and allow America to become a safe haven for criminals again," he announced.
Trump closed his message with a call for solidarity and a promise: "Please pray for the family of this innocent woman. We will ensure that swift and severe justice is served in this case."
The current U.S. administration has repeatedly attempted to eliminate TPS for Haitians, which protects about 220,000 beneficiaries, but federal courts have blocked these measures, including a ruling from a court of appeals in January 2026 that declared such elimination illegal.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) collaborated in the arrest of Joachim and issued a detention order for his deportation regardless of the judicial process.
