A large group of Cubans organized an impromptu street party to the rhythm of the music in Plaza de San Francisco de Asís, in Old Havana, in a scene captured at sunset that has gone viral on social media.

The video, published last Sunday by the TikTok account @yaremi_kordos, shows dozens of people gathered on the cobblestones of the iconic square, right in front of the Café del Oriente restaurant and the Marqués de Cárdenas de Montehermoso Hotel.

The images show the crowd dancing and chanting to urban music, while several attendees record with their mobile phones. Notably, there is an individual dressed in black standing on an elevated structure, energizing the festive atmosphere.

The scene reflects the growing popularity of the genre in the Cuban capital, a trend that has gained momentum among young people and, as the video demonstrates, can turn any public space into an improvised dance floor.

“The cast is all over Havana, what kind of rhythm these people have,” comments the text accompanying the TikTok post, where the video has generated numerous reactions and comments.

These types of spontaneous gatherings demonstrate how, amidst daily difficulties, many Cubans find in music and dance a means of escape and collective expression.
